Emmanuel Maillard is the Country Director of Building Markets – Myanmar, a US based non-profit social enterprise implementing an innovative private sector development program aiming to break down obstacles to local procurement and create a path of least resistance to linkages between buyers and local businesses. Activities include business mapping, business linkages, tender distribution services, and capacity building. Emmanuel spent four years working on financial inclusion for low-income people and MSMEs in Cambodia. He was Technical Advisor for SAMIC Microfinance Ltd. and Marketing Manager for WING, a leading social business providing mobile money services in Cambodia. From 2005 to 2008, Emmanuel worked in Kenya and Tanzania as the Commercial Attaché for the French Trade Commission in East Africa. He started his career in the Public Affairs department of Esso France (ExxonMobil). He is the co-author of « Borders and Margins » a photo-book documenting Cambodian migration to Thailand.
